I’m Scott Bryant
I am a generalist with 30+ years of business experience. My career experience has ranged from start-up to enterprise, in functions including sales, alliances, operations, marketing, business development and finance. I’ve done a little bit of everything and learned a lot in the process. I am now applying this via consulting for non-profits.
Why non-profit? I genuinely wish to bring value to others and see the social sector as an ideal place to do so. I admire and wish to help the countless non-profits committed to a myriad of unique causes. This is a world that is commonly challenged with resource and financial constraints to simply execute their mission. I can help.
Why consulting? I began my career here and have returned to it, now with the right experience to thrive. A big part of this might be my problem-solving experience. I am frugal by nature and believe financial constraints simply lead to creative solutions. Leading a start-up taught me how to grow a business with limited resources. I just love the challenges of consulting projects.
Along with my interest and experience, just like everyone, I have unique skills and talents. These form the basis of the services I provide to clients. In fact, I only focus on what I do best—strategy, selling, and operations.
In my free time, I enjoy practicing my newfound Spanish speaking fluency with robots.

Areas where I can help you
Strategy. With my experience over a long career, I can’t help but think strategically. I like to begin with a vision and creatively identify practical options to achieve it. I don’t start with answers, but rather questions. I observe, listen and explore. I create hypotheses and disprove them. Finding a good solution often involves peeling an onion. Doing so typically leads me to places I never considered initially. And the answers are rarely mine. They come from the smart people around me.
Selling. Staring my career as an engineer, I believed the negative connotations associated with sales. I had no interest in it. Over time, I have come to realize that selling is a strength and core to my success. I now love it. It’s about establishing relationships and creating value. It’s about being honest and understanding your audience. It’s about helping others and not wasting time. In consulting, this skill really applies to business development and building external relationships for my clients.
Operations. This can be defined as “managing the inner workings of a business to run efficiently as possible”. As long as I can remember, I have always wanted to know how things work. This led me to study engineering. However, my curiosity really translates to thinking about how to improve the process. I think of it as simply moving from point A to point B in as few steps as possible. In a business with limited budget and resources, selectively improving operations can make a big impact.
